I'm enjoying this one much more than I enjoyed Ys7, and I enjoyed that quite a bit. From the mechanics to the storyas barebones as it is, it all seems to resonate a bit better. The story in Felghana, so far, is nowhere near as grand as 7, but, on the flipside, it's succinct, and feels far more characterdriven.
Adol the Red has some trouble finding his footing, but his sword remains true in this remake of an Ys classic.
So I can breeze through the levels and kill normal enemies without any real trouble, but as soon as i run into a boss I'm dying like ten times in a row, barely even able to do any real damage to them. Yeah, on normal in Felghana you shouldn't run into situations where you're suddenly dealing 0 damage. Hated that about Napishtim. A couple of bosses might make you think about going back and grabbing a level. A lot of people consider Felghana to be the most difficult Ys but the toughest bosses are in Origin and Ys 1.
Oath in Felghana is an absolute classic of the action RPG genre. I've poured in hours into it because of how addicting the combat is despite the game being a roughly 912 hour experience otherwise. It's a stellar game that's absolutely worth looking into. Ys also has the benefit of having the best soundtrack in gaming. 6 Years Ago.

Harest Jul 24, 2013 8:39am. Both . Origin have a better replayability (3 characters to play with), but i prefered the environment of Felghana. In Origin, even if they are varied, it's in a tower. In Felghana it's a "normal" world. About the gameplay, they're both pretty close imo.
Felghana, by contrast, feels much more constructed. Ys Seven's overworld was vast, but fun to explore. Felghana's overworld is a straight path to your destination, which feels just a step above a menu. Felghana makes up for this by having huge, sprawling dungeons typical to the series, something Seven didn't do.

In this area, enable NoFall, then approach the eastern side of the cliff. Charge up your wind, run, jump, and release, gliding over the chasm to the other side. Smash the urn here for 300 Gold, then continue across the chasm to your east, also using the windglide to get to the other side.

I seem to remember grinding versus those leaping knights. They dole out decent EXP and become trivial once you pin them against a wall.
