Using a wrench, tighten the drawbar against the spring washers another one full turn. This is sufficient to hold the tool. The price of a 440 plus the PathPilot controller is 5700 or so. If you got a PM25 and converted as closely to the 440 as you could (ballscrews with double nuts, oiler system, limit switches, MESA card, computer, breakout boards, NEMA42 steppers, etc), you'd come really close to 5000. I spend around 4500 on mine.
